Gameplay

Currently there are seven different game modes in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

  • Classic Casual and Competitive: The best known and most played mode. In these modes, both bomb missions and hostage missions are a possibility. The intention is to eliminate the opponents, plant the bomb (as a terrorist) or defuse it (as a Counter-Terrorist).
  • Arms Race: In this mode it is the intention to eliminate opponents. If you shoot someone twice or stab them once, you will be rewarded with a better weapon. The first person to kill with all weapons is the winner.
  • Demolition: If you kill someone in this mode, you will be rewarded with a weapon from a pre-programmed set of weapons.
  • Deathmatch: In this mode, the aim is to eliminate the players of the other team. If you kill someone, you get points. Whoever has the most points at the end of the ten-minute round wins.[3]
  • Flying Scoutsman: In this mode you play with the Scout, or the SSG-08, and with the knife. The levels have a low gravity which allows the players to jump higher, among other things.
  • Wingman: Wingman is similar to Competitive, only there are two teams of two players and the game is played on smaller or smaller maps.
  • Danger Zone: Danger Zone is a Battle Generous game mode. 16 to 18 players play on a large map and fight to be the last remaining player.

  • A-TIER tournaments (formerly known as Major Tournaments) feature a large prize pool and a good number of top-tier teams.
  • B-Tier Tournaments is a new tier featuring smaller LAN events and larger online events with top tier 2 teams.
  • C-Tier Tournaments (formerly known as Minor Tournaments) are the lowest ranked events, almost always played online with no top teams participating.
