Nine years ago, bitcoin was used for the first time to pay for a physical thing, and probably the most expensive meal in history. Ever since, May 22nd has become an annual celebration within the bitcoin community, the day Laszlo Hanyecz paid 10,000 BTC for two pizzas, and first tested bitcoin as a medium of exchange.
